AHP in Talks with Moray Housing Partnership over Potential Alliance
June 2012
All our tenants have been written to regarding a potential alliance between AHP and Moray Housing Partnership.
Mike Scott, AHP Chairman said in his letter:
“I am writing personally to let you know that AHP is in discussions with a highly respected local housing association, Moray Housing Partnership (MHP), with a view to setting up a new, formal operating relationship, which will benefit tenants of both organisations.
The aim of bringing together the operations and landlord services of AHP and MHP is to ensure we are in the strongest possible position to respond to very challenging times ahead.
It is important to re-assure you that by doing this it will not affect any of your existing rights and responsibilities as a tenant of Aberdeenshire Housing Partnership. In particular I wish to emphasise:
- AHP will remain your landlord
- Services will continue to be provided by AHP staff based at our Westhill office.
- Your Housing Officer and Asset Management Officer remain the same.
- Any new arrangements will not impact on plans for improvements to our tenants homes.
- New arrangements will not affect the AHP rents – our current harmonisation process will continue as planned.
The prospect of the two organisations working together provides a real opportunity to further review how our services are delivered with a clear focus on improvements, quality and value for money. Overall, it will help AHP enhance our plans to provide the very best service we can.
We are committed to putting our tenants at the heart of all major decisions like this and we will be working with Aberdeenshire Housing Partnership Tenants Association (AHPTA) throughout this process. We hope you will agree it is a very exciting and positive step that AHP is taking.
The Board and staff at AHP recognise tenants may have some questions at this early stage. If you do have any queries or concerns please contact our office on 01224 548000 or e-mail enquiries@a-h-p.org.uk
We will otherwise keep you up to date as the new relationship with MHP is developed.”
As the Chairman has suggested – if you have any queries at this time please contact us. We will though be keeping you informed of progress.
